Pre-summer AC checklist: what to inspect before the heat hits

Most emergency compressor failures we see in May were preventable with a ten-minute check in March.

Clean the condenser coil, check the gas pressure, tighten the electrical terminals, and test the capacitor. A weak capacitor is the single most common cause of a compressor that hums but won’t start.

Do this before the first heatwave, not during it.
